Lowered Expectations
Something I have noticed lately is that I usually enjoy things more when I am not as excited about them. If I have high expectations then I am usually disappointed. When I am really looking forward to something like a restaraunt or a movie then I end up picking it apart until I hate it. If I am dragged, I usually end up being able to say "it was better than I thought it was going to be", which is a good review. Try it out. It could change your life.

I do the exact same thing. The kiss of death is when someone says "It's the best movie I have ever seen." I so won't like it.
When I went to see "The Passion" someone tried to pass me a tissue before the previews were even over.......pretty much guaranteed a tear free experience for me.
At this point in my life, I don't care how bad the movie is, I was just glad to GO! And if Bryan doesn't fall asleep in the middle, it's a bonus. I think what I'm trying to say is, I don't have any expectations about anything lately... except TV programs. Boy, if I decide to sacrifice sleep for something - it better knock my socks off!
I do think I have a good example of this though. Bryan and I loved Top Design on Bravo. When they advertised Sheer Genius, we thought it would bomb - a show about cutting hair? Well, we watched it because the genius' at Bravo put it on right after the last episode of Top Design, and maybe it was our very low expectations, but we haven't missed a single one!
